Deforestation Detection in Peru
Overview
In this project, I developed satellite image processing pipelines to quantify deforestation in the Peruvian Amazon using Sentinel and Landsat data. I engineered vegetation indices and change-detection methods to estimate deforested areas, achieving approximately 5% error.
The work resulted in a peer-reviewed publication indexed as a book chapter in the Proceedings of the 6th Brazilian Technology Symposium.
